About the requirements of CPD
What is required for re-registration?
Question:
What is required for re-registration?
Answer:
Reregistration is based on a five year cycle.

To meet the minimum standard for continued registration, a person who is currently registered must demonstrate that
(a) he or she is able to practise competently in his or her practice area to the standard of a registered architect; and
(b) he or she has taken reasonable steps to maintain the currency of his or her architectural knowledge and skills since the last assessment.

This is done via a process known as a Competence Review. CPD participation is one of the ways that an architect can demonstrate that he or she has met requirement b, in that he or she has taken reasonable steps to maintain the currency of his or her architectural knowledge and skills since the last assessment.
